Aaron and Sonja Degerstrom

Aaron and Sonja first served with Christ In Action in Kentucky, after tornadoes hit in December of 2021. They volunteered with a team from their church in January of 2022. At that time they felt the Lord calling them to continue serving his Kingdom through Christ In Action. In 2025 Aaron and Sonja relocated to Culpeper, VA to serve as full-time missionaries with Christ In Action! Aaron is a team leader on deployments and serves in the warehouse at HQ. Sonja is over Strategic Partnerships and fills multiple roles on deployments. 

Aaron has worked in the construction industry for the last 2 decades as a finish carpeter formean and cabinet maker. He also served on the board for Valley Chrstian Scool, coached hockey, and helped lead many youth mission trips across the country. Sonja received a BA in youth and family ministry and a minor in counseling. She spent 10 years working in the church as a youth and family Pastor. For 8 years she ran a private K-12 School, Valley Christian, while also teaching Jr. High and High School Bible classes. Prior she worked for Samaritans Purse as the Regional Manager of the Upper Midwest, for Operation Christmas Child.

Aaron and Sonja Degerstrom have two sons, Austin and Hunter. Austin is in the Airforce ROTC at St. Thomas University. He graduates this spring semester as an AF Officer and Pilot. Hunter is working full-time in construction as a custom cabinet maker. The Degerstrom's were sent as missionaries from their home church, Osceola Community Church.
